Edward Michael Montague…born in November 1948 in San Francisco…Became a member of the Major League staff in 1976…has worked the All-Star Game (1982, 90, 98, 2004), Division Series (1981, 95, 2000, 03-05, 07), League Championship Series (1979, 84, 87, 92, 96, 99, 2001, 02) and World Series (1986, 91, 97, 2000, 04, 07)…was the first base umpire when Pete Rose singled to break Ty Cobb’s all-time hit record in Cincinnati (1985)…umpired in the California League (1972), Arizona Instructional League (1972-73) and Pacific Coast League (1973-75).
